Portmore Loch and Dundreich :

It’s a lovely B walk with an ascent of just 350 meters. The place is just outside the Edinburgh halfway between Penicuik and Peebles. We had our scons and tea at Tea house. The walk starts just off the tea room so cars are left in the car park of this tea room. We have to go through a small farm, probably first I cam so close to a farm in UK. It was pretty ok but as we walked along I guess they are generating bio gas from Cattle dung, it is level walk to Loch and the other group took more challenging walk which goes via Dundreich. The ascent was a bit steep but not that muddy inspite of previous day’s downpour. We took lunch break at top of hill. This provides nice views of Edinburgh, a few high descent hills around. utterly stinky and muddy. But we passed that bit very quick. Later it is a gentle stroll from there and after a km or so we divided into two groups. One group took the easier ground
